Gem Strontium Titanate Sim from Russia Facts

Just wanted to share some gemstone information with my fellow artists.

Very Vitreous Quantum Cut Strontium Titanate Sim from Russia.

This 7mm Round Beauty has so much sparkle, it is hard to get a good picture of it. The color is a golden champagne and reflects rainbow sparkles within. It is really an eye catcher! This gem was used to simulate a diamond and did a great job at it. It has a hardness of 5-6 and is natural in color. There is no treatment done to this gem.

Tausonite remains an extremely rare mineral in nature, occurring as very tiny crystals. Its most important application has been in its synthesized form wherein it is occasionally encountered as a diamond simulant, in precision optics, in varistors, and in advanced ceramics.
